Payments, DNA security & privacy

Financial and genetic data are separated by architecture:

  • Stripe processes all card and subscription payments — PCI-DSS scope stays with Stripe
  • Kinlytix does not store credit card numbers, bank accounts, or full payment credentials
  • Raw DNA files stored in secured, access-controlled storage — not in public web directories
  • Hashed identifiers and role-based access limit exposure of match and profile data
  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and hardened session controls for authenticated users

Customer protection. Checkout and billing run through Stripe so your payment details never land on Kinlytix servers. DNA uploads remain under your control — you choose matching consent, and platform matching does not publish raw genotype data to other members. Governance practices evolve with the platform; enterprise and regulated deployments can be scoped to your validation and compliance requirements.

When you use optional paid services inside the platform, you pay only for what you choose: $1.99 per DNA kit upload & processing (one-time per kit slot: autosomal, Y-DNA, or mtDNA on your profile), optional subscription upgrades and storage add-ons listed below when available. Expanding an existing Y-STR panel or attaching a Big Y SNP file to the same kit is free (no second kit fee). Prices may change; beta features and fees are shown at checkout.

I had it built for me because I have been an FTDNA project administrator since 2014 and have hosted my own project website since 2011, but I've relied on Facebook for social networking, Excel for data, my memory for tasks, and on top of that researching.
